11th March, 2024

February 29th was the last day of classes for the S6 students. My emotions were intertwined with a blend of quiet melancholy and excitement. I was sad to see this class of S6 students go; and I was happy to be appointed as the new Principal of S.K.H. Holy Trinity Church Secondary School. I am thankful for God's grace and the trust of the IMC for allowing me to continue to serve Him in my new position and to pursue my dreams together with the teachers and students.

When I was young, I went to S.K.H. Kei Tak Primary School. I still remember my class teacher, Ms. Fung's smile and guidance, and how she would ask the students to write down their dreams, and my dream was to be a teacher. After graduating from the University, I joined the ranks of teachers at Holy Trinity Church Secondary School, and it has been 27 years since then. Teaching is my dream, and this dream is the driving force that has always propels me forward. It is my greatest wish to educate every student well, and it is my greatest joy to witness the growth of every student.

At such a young age, my teacher planted a seed of "dream" for me, so that I clearly understood the direction I was pursuing, and even the most important goal I wanted to achieve in my entire life. The most important thing in pursuing a dream is to have a strong will, enough confidence and never forget the heart of the dream. I enjoy learning. I recall the time when I was studying for my master's degree in education, teaching during the day and studying at night, I relied on my determination and perseverance to accomplish it step by step. The process of pursuing your dreams may not always go as smoothly as you would like. The journey to your dream may be fraught with obstacles and frustrations.  However, as long as you do not give up, remain steadfast in your beliefs, and progress towards your dream according to your plan, you will surely have the opportunity to reach your ultimate destination.

I remember telling my classmates, “If I can do it, you can do it too. If you are willing to persevere, you will be better than your teachers.” As I gaze upon the gifts from my S6 students, the cartons of milk tea resting on the bookshelf, your sweet faces immediately come to mind. The sweetness of the milk tea lingers in my mouth, allowing me to savor and enjoy the moment. Thank you for your love and support.

Lastly, I would like to share a scripture dedicated to our students: "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. " (Philippians 3:13-14). I wish for every student to discover their own goals and dreams, and to equip themselves with the strength to pursue them wholeheartedly.
